چکیده

Deconvolution problems are encountered in signal processing applications where an unknown input signal can only be observed after propagation through one or more noise corrupted FIR channels. The first step in recovering the input usually entails an estimation of the FIR channels through training based or blind algorithms. The ’standard’ procedure then uses least squares estimation to recover the input. A recursive implementation with constant computational cost is based on the Kalman filter. In this paper we focus on a total least squares based approach, which is more appropriate if errors are expected both on the output samples and the estimates of the FIR channels. We will develop a recursive total least squares algorithm (RTLS) which closely approximates the performance of the non-recursive TLS algorithm and this at a much lower computational cost.

Systolic Algorithms for Recursive Total Least Squares Parameter Estimation and Mixed RLS/RTLS Problems

Total least squares parameter estimation is an alternative to least squares estimation though much less used in practice, partly due to the absence of eecient recursive algorithms or parallel architectures. Here it is shown how previously developed systolic algorithms/architectures for recursive least squares estimation can be used for recursive total least squares problems. Unconstrained as we...

A new approach to constrained total least squares image restorationø

Recently there has been a growing interest and progress in using total least squares (TLS) methods for solving blind deconvolution problems arising in image restoration. Here, the true image is to be estimated using only partial information about the blurring operator, or point spread function (PSF), which is subject to error and noise. In this paper, we present a new iterative, regularized, an...

Improving adaptive resolution of analog to digital converters using least squares mean method

This paper presents an adaptive digital resolution improvement method for extrapolating and recursive analog-to-digital converters (ADCs). The presented adaptively enhanced ADC (AE-ADC) digitally estimates the digital equivalent of the input signal by utilizing an adaptive digital filter (ADF). The least mean squares (LMS) algorithm also determines the coefficients of the ADF block. In this sch...

Overview of total least-squares methods

We review the development and extensions of the classical total least squares method and describe algorithms for its generalization to weighted and structured approximation problems. In the generic case, the classical total least squares problem has a unique solution, which is given in analytic form in terms of the singular value decomposition of the data matrix. The weighted and structured tot...
